Our Sweethearts

Jamie Edgerton

About Me

Hi! I'm Jamie Edgerton and I am so excited to be Tau Kappa Epsilon's sweetheart this year. I am studying Biology in the hopes to pursue a career in Naturopathic Medicine. I also have two pet hedgehogs named quill.i.am and Hocus Poke-Us and they love the brothers of TKE. The men of TKE have always been such great friends to me, have supported me, and have helped me become the best version of myself I can be. I am so excited to have the opportunity to give back to the organization that has given me so much.

Why I wanted to be EK's Sweetheart

I wanted to be TKE Sweetheart because throughout my time at Loyola, the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon have showed what true friendship is. I am so thankful for every experience I have had with these men, and I am so lucky to have them in my life. The men of Tau Kappa Epsilon are compassionate, intelligent, goofy, honest, and everything I could ask for in friends. I wanted to be TKE Sweetheart not so I could gain anything but instead so I could give back to the organization that has given me so much.

Alyssa Schilling

About Me

My name's Alyssa Schilling and I grew up in Northfield, Minnesota. I'm a sophomore at LUC majoring in both Advertising/Public Relations and Spanish. I am also minoring in Psychology. I'm apart of the Advertising club and the Ski club at Loyola. I'm also a member of Alpha Chi Omega. I enjoy dancing, exploring Chicago, volunteering with kids, and spending time with the men of TKE! I'm so honored to have been chosen as one of the sweethearts. I've had nothing but great experiences with the members since I began at Loyola. They have been my friends, mentors, and supporters. They truly are genuine men and I know I can count on them for anything. Being their sweetheart has been such a rewarding experience. Their love and support makes being their sweetheart that much more meaningful! I'm so lucky to have this opportunity to give back to the brothers!

Why I wanted to be EK's Sweetheart

I have known the Epsilon Kappa TKE brotherhood for about a year now. I see how they all have grown and changed and become successful within those months. The brothers have such a great charisma and care for everyone they are involved with, and these are such strong characteristics I wish to build within myself. Within the last year, I have learned so many new things from each of the brothers, from leadership and scholarship, to just simply enjoying life. I could go on and on about the many things I have learned from the men of TKE, and I would love to continue growing and learning from them.

The Epsilon-Kappa Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon at Loyola University Chicago was installed as a chapter on May 12, 1956.

Since 1899, Tau Kappa Epsilon has never had an exclusionary clause for membership. TKE does not judge men on their wealth, rank or honor, but instead on their personal worth and character.

Our mission is to "to aid men in their mental, moral, and social development for life." In essence, we build Better Men for a Better World.
